Why? Here's My Why.

Why are you a book coach? A few people told me I inspired them to write their stories. I'm an author, book coach, peer counselor and trainer. First, I love writing. Writing comes easy to me. I've been journaling since I was a young girl. Teachers complimented my writing throughout grade school.

Plus, I'm competitive. I believe I can make your light shine brighter. Like a beautician who enjoys styling people's hair and enhancing their appearance and confidence. Likewise, I like guiding authors on designing and finishing their books.

Mental Health Field

I like to help people. Aside from writing books and mentoring, I'm a peer counselor in recovery. Otherwise, known as a certified peer specialist. Currently, I work with people on their health plans. Specifically, I support individuals on their wellness to improve physical and mental wellbeing.

Moreover, I have a wealth of knowledge and experience in training people. We all have a story, and I believe I can help you share yours - beautifully and effectively. I have a background in training people on how to articulate their stories of recovery. I've walked people through the steps of organizing their thoughts, writing experiences and building their confidence to share it publicly. I'm a state trainer for NAMI Georgia, which is a mental health advocacy non-profit organization. NAMI stands for the National Alliance on Mental Illness. I've been a state trainer for NAMI since 2012.

Partnering with Authors

I want to not only help you share your stories but to bring your readers in closer. I aim to help you gain clarity and to create exciting books to read. With my expertise and direction, we could take your ideas to greater heights and make them reader-friendly, appealing and have your followers hungry for more.

I cling to hands-on training. It's always helped me regurgitate information easier. I want to share my expertise in an intimate setting to help others digest information better and to get positive results. I assist authors with their manuscripts by guiding them on how to organize the work, cater it to a specific audience and keep readers hooked and thirsty for more.

Why am I a book coach? - I enjoy writing, assisting authors, and empowering individuals with the skills to achieve their dreams.

Tackling the Introduction

What is the purpose of your reading? Why select your copy? What promises will you deliver? These are some of the pertinent questions you will answer in your book’s Introduction. Keep Your Eye on the Prize

You’ve started writing your book and the motivation drops as well as your progress. How do you stir your passion? How can you rekindle your flame? When I hit a roadblock, I’ll do one of these three activities or all of them.  Reflect on my reasons. Revert to my writing ritual. Review the list of questions my reader may have. Proven-Strategies for Creating      In the beginning stages, I’ll jot down my reasons for publishing. Five or more reasons I deserve to publish. I keep this note in the miscellaneous section of my binder. I discussed these tasks in my book, In Her Own Ink: Strategies for Creating from Author to Author.      The writing ritual is where motivation meets discipline. What motivates you into action? Which song, quote, or image gets you moving? Generally, I watch a couple of performances on YouTube that spikes my professional keenness, and produces passion. I do this repeatedly, prior to diving into the mental work of my book development...

Getting Started: Organizing Your Thoughts

Before I dive into my book project I commit to a few initial steps. They establish the foundation. I carry out these practices to ensure focus and motivation. While there are several approaches to book writing, I’ll bring our attention to getting organized. Setting the Foundation      First, create book objectives. This is the purpose of the book. Also, your promises to the reader. As the author, what book goals do you have? Why are you writing the book? How will you empower your reader?        Answering these questions will help you determine the makeup of your book design. Generally, two to five objectives are ideal. The entire book is committed to solidifying your promises to the reader. Your Motivation for Publishing      Second, create three to seven reasons you deserve to publish. This list can be used as a tool to rekindle your passion. When you hit writer’s block, refer back to your list of reasons. Reflecting on them will help y...
